नई दिल्ली/टीम डिडिटल। जसपाल सिंह भट्टी का नाम आते ही लोगों के चहरे पर खुद-ब-खुद मुस्कान आ जाती है। आज जसपाल भट्टी का जन्मदिन है, भले ही वे हमारे बीच नहीं है। लेकिन लोगों के दिलों में उनकी यादें आज भी जिंदा हैं। जसपाल ने अपनी कॉमेडी से दो दशकों तक राज किया। वे हास्य अभिनेता, निर्माता, व्यंग्यकार एवं निर्देशक थे। 

- जसपाल सिंह भट्टी टेलीविजन सीरीज 'फ्लॉप शो' और मिनी सीरीज 'उल्टा पुल्टा' से मशहूर हुए थे। फ्लॉप शो को जसपाल भट्टी की पत्नी सविता भट्टी ने प्रोड्यूस किया था और इसके सभी एपिसोड में उन्होंने पत्नी के रूप में भी भूमिका निभाई थी।

- साल 1985 में जसपाल भट्टी ने सविता से शादी की। उनके दो बच्चे एक बेटा जसराज और एक बेटी राबिया है।

- जसपाल भट्टी ने पंजाब इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज से इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियर की डिग्री हासिल की थी। जसपाल कॉलेज के दिनों में नॉनसेंस क्लब जैसे नुक्कड़ नाटकों में काम करते थे। जिसने उन्हें पहचान भी दिलाई।

- जसपाल टेलीविजन की दुनिया में कदम रखने से पहले चंडीगढ़ में ‘द ट्रिब्यून’ नामक अखबार में एक कार्टूनिस्ट थे। 

- स्टार प्लस के शो “नच बलिए” जिसमें जसपाल भट्टी और उनकी पत्नी सविता भट्टी ने डांस और कॉमेडी से दर्शकों को दीवाना बना लिया।

-जसपाल भट्टी ने सब टीवी पर प्रसारित होने वाली 52 एपिसोड की कॉमेडी शो 'थैंक्यू जीजाजी' की शुरूआत की, जिसकी शूटिंग चंडीगढ़ के उनके ही एक मैड आर्ट्स फिल्म स्कूल में की गई थी।

- साल 2009 में, इस मैड आर्ट्स स्कूल ने कन्या भ्रूणहत्या पर आधारित एक एनिमेशन फिल्म बनाई, जिसे 1 टेक मीडिया द्वारा आयोजित एडवांटेज इंडिया में दूसरा पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया था। इसने मुंबई में आईडीपीए 2008 पुरस्कारों में श्रेष्ठता का  पुरुस्कार भी जीता था।

- जसपाल भट्टी को गोल्डन केला अवार्ड्स में पहला लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट अवॉर्ड से भी सम्मानित किया गया था।

Remembering #JaspalBhatti on his 62nd birth anniversary. Jaspal Singh Bhatti (3 March 1955 – 25 October 2012) was a Panjabi Sikh television personality famous for his satirical take on the problems of the common man. He is most well known for his television series Flop Show and mini capsules Ulta Pulta which ran on Doordarshan, India's national television network, in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was also known as the "King of Comedy". On 2013, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan (posthumously), India's third highest civilian award. His low-budget Flop Show TV series in the early 1990s is remembered even today. His wife Savita Bhatti produced the show and acted in all the episodes as his wife. Only 10 episodes were ever produced, but the show has had a long and powerful legacy and is well remembered. One of his co-actors Vivek Shauq has been very successful since his stint in Flop Show, having found a footing in Hindi cinema. On 10 January 2011, Shauq died from septicemia. Bhatti subsequently acted and directed the popular TV series Ulta Pulta and Nonsense Private Limited for the Doordarshan television network. What attracted an audience to his shows was his gift of inducing humor to highlight everyday issues of the middle class in India. Bhatti's satire on the Punjab police Mahaul Theek Hai (1999) was his first directorial venture for a full-length feature film in his native Punjabi language. It was well received amongst the audience for its simple and honest humor. He played the role of Jolly Good Singh, a guard, in the movie Fanaa. He played a comical college principal in Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. He also starred in the comedy Punjabi film Jijaji. Bhatti acted in Hindi Movie Aa Ab Laut Chalen with Kadar Khan in 1999. Bhatti appeared in SAB TV's Comedy ka King Kaun as a judge with actress Divya Dutta. In his latest stint, Bhatti and his wife Savita competed in a popular Star Plus show Nach Baliye which went on air in October 2008. The couple put their best foot forward to entertain the audiences with their dancing and comic skills. - 25 अक्टूबर 2012 को एक कार दुर्घटना में जसपाल भट्टी का निधन हो गया। जिस कार में वह यात्रा कर रहे थे वह कार जिले के नकोदर इलाके में शाहकोट के पास सुबह 3 बजे सड़क के किनारे लगे एक पेड़ से टकरा गई थी जिससे उनकी मौत हो गई।
